Clubmark criteria
Clubmark is built around a set of core criteria which ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent and accepted minimum operating standards. It is now universally recognised by clubs wishing to show good practice and demonstrate commitment in developing young people within their club. It is promoted and carefully branded, by Sport England.
Clubmark criteria encompasses the 4 areas below:
- Playing/participation programme.
- Duty of care and safeguarding and protecting children.
- Knowing your club and its community.
- Club management.
Working with our Clubmark partners, in particular runningsports, we have produced a document to support community sports clubs when gathering evidence to meet Clubmark criteria. It is designed to be used directly by clubs themselves or sports development officers supporting clubs through the process. It is always advisable to check directly with your national governing body as to whether you need to evidence any additional criteria which may be sport specific.
