Clubmark milestone achieved by Selby Warriors
It was a double score for Selby Warriors earlier this month as they celebrated Clubmark accreditaion alongside receiving a cheque for £1,500 from the Co-operative Community Fund.
The Selby Warriors rugby league club scored some big numbers when they celebrated their recent double-header with a cheque for £1,500 from the Co-operative Community Fund the same weekend as receiving Clubmark accreditation.
On behalf of the RFL, Selby and District RL community coach Adam Prentis presented the award to club chairman Dave Sowden and welfare officer Janine Kirk.
Warriors co-ordinator Craig Hazell commented:
"Being presented with our accreditation certificate for Clubmark is a major milestone in the development of the Club. We have worked hard in many areas to achieve the standards set by the policy and takes great pride in the work that club officials have done to get us to this stage.
This is a great start for us on our development pathway, but it is only just the start as we are an extremely ambitious club with clear objectives and structured plans to develop rugby league in the district.
And the much-needed funding, for which we were selected on the strength of our application, is also greatly appreciated."
