Clubmark celebrates CSP success...

Clubmark has good reason to celebrate as the number of licensed County Sports Partnerships (CSPs) doubles, bringing the total to six! 2008 has got off to a great start with 3 more CSPs recently awarded a license to accredit Clubmark - Living Sport, sportessex and Lancashire Sport Partnership. 

Oxford Uni VC 30th club to accredit

Oxford University Volleyball Club is the 30th Volleyball club in England to gain accreditation on Volleyball England's ‘Volley 1-2-3' Clubmark accreditation scheme.

Going for gold

Samurai Judo Club has been the second club in the history of the British Judo Association to be awarded the Clubmark Gold Award, the top award in the BJA Club Recognition Scheme, it is the highest honour that can be bestowed on a BJA club.

Elvaston Cricket Club – Clubmark delivers a culture change

Elvaston Cricket Club was the first Cricket Club in the Country to be Clubmark accredited having piloted the scheme with the ECB in 2003. We have since been reaccredited and continue to develop our facilities, links with the local community, sponsorship and membership.

Operational update

Clubmark NGBs annual meeting hailed a success

Earlier this month, the Clubmark licensed NGBs converged at Sport England's Head Office for this years Lead Officer Training

This annual event, organised and run by Clare MacLeod and Michael Nyarko is an opportunity for all the fundamental partners to discuss current challenges and future developments.

This year's agenda focussed on the objectives and deliverables of the new Clubmark contract, recently re-awarded to Knight Kavanagh & Page, appointed to manage the Programme for the next three years.

There was also a presentation by the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS) that is currently working with Clubmark to develop opportunities for multi-sports and single sport disability clubs to be Clubmark accredited.

After lunch, workshops took place to brainstorm ideas and solutions to this year's key priorities.

For example, a key focus for Clubmark over the coming year is to accreditation rates - ensuring that clubs registered as working towards Clubmark are supported as this will help to drive up the number of Clubmark accredited clubs. As well as recognising that re-accreditation is equally as important if Clubmark is to sustain its position of the national quality standard.

Simon Dickie from the ARA attended the day. He said, "Not only did we receive vital updates from Sport England and the Clubmark team but this time is a great opportunity for the different sports to meet and share best practice. Working together with partners and stakeholders will help to drive the future success of Clubmark for the benefit of all."
