Plymouth Life Centre Indoor Bowls Club is the first sports club to be awarded Clubmark accreditation by Active Devon, recognising its ongoing commitment to providing high quality opportunities for young people and adults.

Members from the Bowls club received the award from James Bogue of Active Devon together with colleagues from Plymouth City Council and Everyone Active at a presentation on Thursday 19th December at the Plymouth Life Centre.

Resources covering finance, marketing, governance and facility management are available to help your club, no matter what size, as it works towards achieving and/or maintaining Clubmark status.

Clubmark is now managed by Sport England in-house.  This arrangement is for an interim period and will continue until the 31st March 2014 when Clubmark will become part of Club Support, the one stop shop for clubs and volunteers*.

British Cycling’s Go-Ride programme incorporates Sport England’s Clubmark scheme and integrates structured coaching activities and club development into a single, recognisable programme.

With almost 300 clubs (and counting!) signed up to the Go-Ride programme, it is playing a key role in maintaining and increasing participation levels of young people within cycling.

British Universities and College Sports (BUCS) is the National Governing Body for Higher Education in the UK. The aim of BUCS is to “enhance the student experience through sport” which has led to a working partnership with Knight, Kavanagh & Page which manages the Clubmark programme on behalf of Sport England.

On Friday 7th June the new and improved Clubmark website (www.clubmark.org.uk) was launched.

The launch of the new site complements the new branding of the Clubmark programme launched earlier in the year, giving it a fresh look and improved functionality to give a higher level of support for Clubmark clubs.

With the aim of providing information beyond the expectation of the site’s visitors, coupled with the easy to use layout allows the user to find what they are looking for easily and faster.
