NatWest CricketForce 2005 proved to be a huge success in the North East as 1,200 volunteers helped to refurbish 19 cricket clubs using materials and time donated by local companies and sponsors.
To give a clear picture of Clubmark accredited clubs, their location and how to get in contact, a database of Clubmark accredited clubs has been prepared. The information has been supplied by NGBs and will be updated on a regular basis. We hope to develop the functions of the database over the coming months and commit to updating the content every three months. With over 2000 Clubmark accredited clubs and hundreds more clubs working towards accreditation the likelihood is that there will be a Clubmark club near you.
Itchen South District Scout Canoe Centre in Southampton have been accredited with the BCU Top Community Club and Sport England Clubmark Award. The Clubmark and Top Club award recognises clubs that are safe, effective and child friendly who provide a varied programme of activity for young people.
Junior & Veteran Championships & GB team successes for Stone canoeists 12/06/2006
Canoeists from a Stone-based canoe club swept the board last weekend at a national canoeing championship whilst two other club members competed at International World Cup races.
Bikinmotion CC, based in Newton Abbot, Devon has become the latest Go-Ride club to benefit from the Sportsmatch scheme. The club has just secured £4,000 in funding from Sportsmatch, in conjunction with its sponsor and local specialist bike shop, Bikin'-Motion. The latest funding windfall comes not long after the club's £4,000 Awards for All success in February.
London-based Hosana Sporting Club (HSC) has become the 44th club to reach Sport England-England Basketball Clubmark status as well as achieving England Basketball 3-Star Accreditation.
Dave Bartlett, Chairperson of the club was delighted with the news, "Thank you for this great news of Comets JBC achievement."
A scheme which raises standards in sports clubs across the country has now achieved 1000 fully accredited clubs in 20 different sports. It means that Sport England's Clubmark scheme is rapidly becoming the established quality standard for all sports clubs in the country.
The content of the Supporting Silver disk is available to download under the Club Accreditation section on the Badminton England website. This resource, we hope, will offer clubs the opportunity to progress towards Clubmark and Silver Club as quickly and effectively as possible.
