March 2011 has been a successful month for the club, firstly being awarded Clubmark accreditation by the Angling Development Board and then launching free coaching sessions to all anglers aged 18 and under.

The Sport and Recreation Alliance is surveying sports clubs to assess their financial health. Completing the survey will allow the Alliance to campaign for reduced rates of VAT for clubs, Gift Aid on junior subscriptions, lower utility rates, alcohol and music licensing costs, drainage charges, improvements to the CASC scheme, access to facilities and other important issues for clubs. Only with good data can we make politicians listen.

County Sport Partnership (CSP) benchmarking documents were first produced in 2008 to show the number and distribution of Clubmark accredited and working towards clubs in each CSP area. Following positive feedback they are now produced on a biannual basis with the latest ones being generated in December 2010.

What a great start! Over 900 Clubmark accredited sports clubs registered for Active Kids 2010 last year and benefited from over £123,000 worth of equipment.
