Badminton club gets thumbs up

Canute  Badminton Club in Knutsford has gained a prestigious thumbs up by achieving Clubmark.

The club's policies, aims and objectives have been given a seal of approval with the awarding of Clubmark in July this year.

Alison Lysons, Badminton England's North West Development Officer, visited Egerton Youth Club to present Canute and Canute Junior Badminton Club with the award.

She said: "I'd like to congratulate Canute on becoming the first badminton club in Cheshire East to gain Premier Club status.
I look forward to working with them to develop participation in badminton in the Knutsford area."

The certificate was presented to club chairman Jill Nairn, coaches and junior club organisers Ann and Paul Robinson, head coach Meriel Currie and volunteer Caroline Philips.
