Boxing clubs can now become Clubmark accredited…
Boxing is the latest sport licensed to accredit Clubmark. The Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE) is the latest NGB to be awarded a license to accredit.
The first amateur boxing club to become accredited is Lydney Amateur Boxing Club. The Club held a launch to celebrate its achievement. ABAE Chairman Keith Walters met with representatives from Lydney, including club chairman Dominic Seldis.
ABAE Boxing Development Manager Roger Eady, who has been working closely with the club towards their accreditation, was also at the presentation.
Roger said "Other clubs are already showing a great deal of interest in the scheme and we look forward to celebrating more achievements in the months and years ahead."
Paul King, CEO of the ABAE is pleased with the progress in club development in boxing. He said, "Clubmark is Sport England's charter for excellence in club provision and management. The criteria and policies have clearly defined outcomes, which will assist successful applicants to develop and enable them to raise their profile with the support of ABAE-trained facilitators."
Boxing clubs interested in achieving Clubmark should contact Matthew Williams (matthew.williams@abae.co.uk) or visit the ABAE website for more details.
