Clubmark coup for Gallow Indoor Bowls Club
The Fakenham Gallow Indoor Bowls Club has become the latest of the 300 clubs affiliated to the English Indoor Bowling Association to achieve the Clubmark standard.
The award is principally in relation to the junior section of clubs and the Club currently has about 25 young people actively training and competing.
Working with Active Norfolk, the Club championed by coach Byran Barnes, achieved the accreditation in October.
Gallow has had a prominent place in the world of indoor bowls, having two former World Champions as members, including Mervyn King, and several others with awards at national level.
Its members compete at senior level within Norfolk and nationally with men's, ladies and mixed teams.
Also on site are squash, (also Clubmark accredited), golf, tennis and other activities.
