Mid Sussex Hockey Club achieves Clubmark
Mid Sussex Hockey Club (MSHC) would like to announce that it has received England Hockey ClubsFirst and Sport England Clubmark accreditation.
The accreditation recognises excellence in hockey provision across all aspects of the club and, more specifically, is the "gold standard" across all sports for junior participation. Gaining this important status has been at the core of Mid Sussex Hockey Club's long term plans for developing their young players, coaches and umpires. The award has been the accumulation of two years hard work by the committee, and has been headed by Casey Floyd Green and Samantha Harris.
The accreditation signifies having met high quality standards in safeguarding, protecting and developing young people in hockey; club management and sports equity and ethics. It also allows the club priority-booking slots and discounted rates, offering the juniors in the club great facilities at affordable prices.
Looking ahead, MSHC has the ability to guarantee schools in the area a high standard of coaching and the presence of child-friendly systems, enabling participants to benefit fully from the expertise that it offers. Mid Sussex Hockey Club provides a safe, supportive and structured environment for volunteers, whether experienced or just starting out, and welcomes everyone who would like to see what hockey is all about.
Stephen Hillier, the club President commented:
"This season Mid Sussex Hockey Club juniors have been hugely successful, and achieving ClubsFirst accreditation shows that the club provides a consistently high standard of training, competition and development within the game. We are very proud to be the only mixed hockey club in the area to have achieved this award and will continue to provide high-quality and enjoyable hockey opportunities for all our members."
