Snowsports joins the club!!
We are pleased to announce the latest NGB to be awarded a license to accredit Clubmark - Snowsport England.
The Governing Body for English skiers and snowboarders is recognised by Sport England and the CCPR (Central Council for Physical Recreation). It is a Federation of member clubs and associated individuals with a current aggregate membership of 20,000 skiers.
This latest award takes the number of licensed NGBs to 28 and with several others hot on the heels, the significant milestone of 30 is not far away.
As part of the licensing process, two pilot Snowsports clubs have achieved Clubmark accreditation. Norfolk Ski Club and Kendal Ski Club share the honour of being the first snowsports clubs to achieve the prestigious award.
Commenting on the success, Tim Fawke from Snowsport England said
"This is a great development for Snowsports. I would like to congratulate Norfolk and Kendal on becoming the first Ski Clubs to qualify for Snow mark. I'm sure this will help to raise the standard at Snowsports clubs to an even higher level."
With around 3,500 accredited clubs across the country, Clubmark is the single, national standard, giving sports clubs of all types structure and direction.
Clubs awarded Clubmark have seen many tangible benefits, such as increased membership and the development of coaches and volunteers. Clubmark provides a focus around which all organisations involved in sport can come together to support good practice in sports clubs working with children and young people.
