Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust's Sports Development Team will be launching the Clubmark Charter on Thursday 29th October at the Wigan Borough Sports Forum supported by Clare McLeod, National Clubmark Manager.
Wigan Sports Development in partnership with Active Life has developed the Charter and will be offering Clubmark clubs a full menu of benefits including:
- Subsidised coach education courses
- Sports Development Newsletter three times per year
- Access to the Wigan Sports Performance Fund for national and international athletes
- Featured on the Wigan Borough Sports Council Club Directory
- Reduced rates for facility hire in school holidays
- Access to meeting rooms in Active Life centres
- ‘Centre Club of the Month Board'
Lizzie Hendley, Club Sports Development Manager has led on the initiative and firmly believes that it is important to incentivise clubs to work towards Clubmark accreditation and rewards clubs that have achieved the standard.
‘Wigan has the highest number of Clubmark clubs in Greater Manchester. The Charter is a way that Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust can support the Voluntary Sector and those clubs that have shown their commitment to be a quality assured, safe, accessible and child friendly environment.'
