Spotlight on...

This new section of the Clubmark website shares the stories of a selection of staff and invaluable volunteers that support and develop our Clubmark clubs.

...From inspirational club members that give up their time to establish quality assured junior sections to staff from licensed organisations that recognise the value of Clubmark in developing high quality, welcoming environments for young people.

Spotlight on…Gill Hallam

Gill joined the Child Protection in Sport Unit in June 2004. The CPSU was established in 2001 by the NSPCC in collaboration with Sport England to raise safeguarding awareness, standards, knowledge and skills throughout sport.


Spotlight on... Reg Belcham

Reg Belchem, President of Whitstable YBC  has been associated with the Club for many years. Firstly as an enthusiastic parent, then as an Instructor within the Club, moving on to instruct at Junior County Level and he has also been a member of the JET coaching Team at the National Academy.


Spotlight on... Alexandra Moore, Head of Volunteering, Sport England

Alexandra Moore is Sport England's new Head of Volunteering. Previously Alexandra has worked for Greater Manchester Sports Partnership as Development Director where her responsibilities included workforce development, education and skills.

Prior to Greater Manchester Sports Partnership, she spent six years in Leisure Management and two years as a Senior Consultant for a Sports and Leisure Consultancy.


Spotlight on…Joanne Stalley

Joanne is Chairman of Modernian Swimming Club based in Bedford. Catering for all ages and abilities, its primary aim is to ensure each individual reaches their maximum potential in competitive swimming.


Spotlight on…Alan Williams

Alan Williams is Chairman of Northwest swimming club - Wallasey Swimming Club. He has been involved with the club since 1955 when Alan joined as a 7 year old boy, having progressed from lessons at the same pool.


Spotlight on…Tom Rock

Tom Rock is the chairperson of the Executive Committee of Everton Swimming Association. He first became involved with the Club when his son joined at the age of 6 years. Within a year Tom had volunteered to be the Treasurer - a role he undertook for 12 years.


Spotlight on…Louise Pennell

Louise Pennell plays a number of roles at Suffolk Spartans Powerlifting Club - coach, secretary and fundraiser. She is the main point of contact for people outside the club.


Spotlight on… Alan Pink

Alan Pink is the Chairman of Kimberley Swimming Club based in Nottinghamshire. He also coaches and teaches at the club as well as getting dragged into wearing daft costumes at the club's presentation evenings!!


Spotlight on... Margaret Nolan

Margaret Nolan is a Partnership Development Manager at runningsports. One of her jobs is to develop products to help run clubs and organisations.

She is in the process of reviewing runningsports' resources and is looking for some examples of how clubs and volunteers are using the runningsports products and in particular what impact they are having in your club and on your volunteers.


Spotlight on... Pat Longville

Pat Longville is a panel umpire and Secretary for Crosskeys Netball Club. She has played in her local area since 1962 and qualified as an umpire in 1983.

When her former club amalgamated with Crosskeys 10 years ago, Pat helped to set up a very successful Junior Section at the Club.
