Teenager Chloe Glendenning is not only an experienced paddler at Hexham Canoe Club. She also performs many other roles, including Step into Sport volunteer, BCU Awards Officer and Youth rep.

She has been involved with the club for six years and got involved by going to the pool sessions after finding out about the club through her local swimming pool. She then moved on to the river, events and became more involved with the running of the club by giving back what she had been taught.

When the Club was working towards Clubmark, Chloe assisted with developing link partnerships with schools and other uniformed organisations and groups. After achieving the highest level of Paddlepower, she also encouraged younger members to participate in Paddlepower sessions, to help the Club achieve its Clubmark goal.

Chloe said,

"Clubmark has given HCC positive recognition as a good club that recognises the importance of young people. It has also got older members and parents interested in helping the younger members succeed."
