Spotlight on... Jayne Emmington
Jayne is an aikido instructor at Aikido Shudokan Preston. The Club hosts classes for both adults and children and aims to teach students how to avoid conflict and teaches harmony in motion.
Jayne joined the Club in 2008 after being introduced by a friend with a mutual interest in martial arts and she has been training for over 3 years. She holds the BAB Coach Level 1 qualification and she coaches the children's classes.
On September 11th this year, three of Jayne's junior pupils were successfully graded by Sensei Michael Mercer and Sensei Ken Robson and they were the first juniors to undertake Black belt at the Club.
Along with her coaching responsibilities, Jayne is also responsible for maintaining and updating the Clubmark file with up-to-date training records and along with Chairman Michael Mercer, initiated the Clubmark process for the Club.
Since achieving accreditation, the Club has been able to collect Sainsbury's Active Kids vouchers, and has increased opportunities to take aikido out into the community and schools.
Jayne feels that the Club's accreditation has
"Given credibility and ease of mind when approaching schools, community groups and parents and provided our members the reassurance that as a club, we are keeping up-to-date with relevant policies."
