Spotlight on…Victoria Humphrey

Victoria Humphrey is one of the Junior coaches, joint junior secretary and joint junior treasurer of Hornets netball club based in Bexleyheath in Kent / South East London. She is a very reliable role model involved with amongst other things, membership administration, dealing with correspondence and health and safety.

Vicky became involved with the club 4 years ago when she wanted to pursue her coaching skills further and become involved with a developing and growing club.

Since joining the club, she has attended level 1 and 2 coaching courses as well as many other courses relevant to coaching and now coaches one of the U14 teams weekly and also coaches in the borough in school holidays as a way to develop interest in the club. Vicky has also passed her ‘c' umpiring test through working with the club.

She also plays in a local friendly league with the girls that she coaches once per week as a way of developing their game and keeps club records, registers of attendance and collects yearly membership fees.

Since achieving Clubmark status, Hornets Netball club has had much more recognition and interest from local schools,and Vicky has also been involved in school holiday coaching session to develop the growing numbers further.

Vicky said,

"Over the past 2 years our club has become recognised in the local area as a good, friendly club which provides a high standard of netball as well as opportunities for those who are beginners no matter what age they are. I am proud to be recognised as a coach of an equal opportunities club that has developed its standard gradually and all members are proud to be part of the club. We have recently started competing in county competition which shows how the club has grown and developed from nothing 6 years ago".
