Trafford embraces the Clubmark Charter
Clubs and their development is one of Sport Trafford's key priorities and accreditation is one of the main initiatives it promotes.
All clubs are encouraged and supported to work towards and gain accreditation. In return the clubs not only gain from the accreditation process but are also recognised through a comprehensive benefits package, highlighted in the Council's Clubmark Charter.
The Charter is publicised at every leisure centre within the Borough and given to every club that is working towards or has gained Clubmark accreditation. The Charter is advertised on a specifically designed "Join a Club" notice board alongside a list of all the clubs at that centre which are committed to accreditation. They are then allocated space to promote their club in the leaflet holders provided.
In addition the specifically designed "Club of the Month" board can be booked out by all committed clubs to promote their work whilst they are not on site. Posters for the board are produced for the clubs centrally to ensure they benefit from a professional design.
The support of these clubs is further enhanced by the fact that only those which have gained or are working towards Clubmark accreditation can promote themselves at the Borough's leisure centres. This highlights the commitment of Trafford Community Leisure Trust to support clubs who are keen to develop and promote good practice.
The Clubmark Charter also highlights the additional benefits on offer such as,
- Preferential rates and bookings for accredited clubs at Trafford's leisure
centres. - 100% Rate Relief for Clubs with their own facilities resulting in an investment of over £200,000 on clubs and junior development per year.
- 25% discount on Health and Fitness membership (for individual members of Clubmark clubs).
- A listing or profile page on the Trafford Community Leisure Trust Physical Activity website GO3.
- Access to local grants and the Sport Trafford Club Development Fund.
- Subsidies or discounts on course places supported by the Trafford Sports Council.
- Recognition at the Trafford Sports Awards.
One to one support is offered by Sport Trafford's officer responsible for clubs and club development. Each leisure centre also has a trained member of staff to offer on site support to their clubs.
Daniel Newall, Sport Trafford Manager says "We are very happy to support the excellent work of Trafford's accredited clubs and are confident that the benefits we offer will encourage even more clubs to commit to the Clubmark process."
